Thank you again for donating a book for our 1st annual "Good Tidings & Trimmings" e-book Giveaway! What book or books did you donate, tell us more about them.

I contributed Rogue’s Honor – Book One of the Honor Bound saga. Rogue’s Honor is an epic fantasy, and in some ways it might be considered a throwback to more traditional fantasy in which good and evil contest for supremacy and mythic creatures abound. At its heart, Rogue’s Honor, as the title might suggest, is a commentary on how honor can be misconstrued both by those who claim to possess it as a birth right and by those who strive to live by its code.

What is your favorite thing about the holiday season and what does Christmas mean to you?

I left home right after graduating from high school, so Christmas has come to be one of the only times each year that I visit my family and see many of my friends who are also returning for the holidays. To me, Christmas has always been a time of sharing, even if it is only sharing time.

What is your favorite holiday memory?

This is more a feeling than a specific memory, but the first Christmas after I left home to join the Navy, I remember flying home and seeing all my friends, many who were also returning home from the military or college, and I just new that Christmas would always be more special from that time forward. In more recent years, Christmas has been all about the joy and wonder in my five your old son’s eyes; and I look forward to building strong Christmas traditions with my wife and son.

Do you still have any of the toys you got when you were a kid?

I still have some of the games, but alas I gave all my Star Wars toys away…

How do you celebrate the holidays?

We host Christmas dinner at our house every year for our closest local friends who we have come to consider as family. Every other year, we travel to visit our parents either before or after Christmas so as not in interrupt our Christmas dinner tradition.

Do you still believe in Santa Claus?

I still believe, as I have always believed, in the Santa Claus within each of us.

A lot of people get that warm, fuzzy feeling around this time of year, are you one of those people?

I have to admit, I feel a bit more jolly this time of year, as long as I’m not stuck on the road in holiday gridlock.

Have you ever gone caroling or wanted to?

I have never gone caroling, though it has always been a secret desire of mine; but it’s probably better for everyone that I don’t.

If you had a choice of the perfect weather for Christmas would it be cold and snowy, or warm and sunny?

I spent one Christmas with my wife in Hawaii on our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful honeymoon; but it did not feel like Christmas. We returned from our honeymoon on the 28th and it proceeded to snow for two days. It shut down our city for a week, but it felt like Christmas even if it was a few days late. Give me snow on Christmas every year!
